Metal Tiger Productions is a streamlined production company offering huge experience without the expensive frills. The core team, consisting of Liz O’Shaughnessy and Tracy Raubenheimer, does all the preliminary research to avoid unnecessary extra costs, with Liz doing all the budgeting herself. Metal Tiger has wonderful relationships with the top freelance crews and suppliers, bringing the right people on board for each job. The com­pany also uses stringent accounting practices to ensure fast, efficient and transparent rec­onciling of all jobs. And, of course, as Noel Coward said, “Work is more fun than fun!”

WHERE WERE YOU TEN YEARS AGO? Running a very successful production house for someone else. I started Metal Tiger in 2004.
HOW HAVE THINGS CHANGED IN THE LAST DECADE? 20 years ago our equipment was pretty basic, whereas now we have cutting edge technology, both for film and digital.
BIGGEST LEARNING CURVE? The big move to digital.
BIGGEST IMPROVEMENT? Running my own company. And Video Take Off technology!
HIGHLIGHT? Every job has its own highlight! For example, in March this year, we shot a spec commercial for Frolic Dog Food for Quad Productions, with absolutely no money, which went on to win a Bronze Lion in June for Director Jerome Langlade and the Quad team! But really, I think that being able to work with so many of the top people in the various creative fields is in itself always a highlight - tremendously exciting and invigorating!
TEN YEAR GOAL? To get back into doccies and features through Metal Tiger.
